Niche Based Gifting:
What Should Businesses Gift?
Sometimes it’s really easy to give someone a gift. The more you know someone, the easier it is to know what to gift them. What about businesses though? With each business there is a level of knowledge needed to gift and within each business industry, there are specific niches. Niche based gifting can be a real challenge, so I am going to give you a cheatsheet. I have compiled a list of 4 major industries and 2 client gifts for each industry.
VA (Virtual Assistant):
As a virtual assistant, your duties may range from emails, to managing social media to appointments and just about everything in between. For the business professionals you service, consider something like:
~Executive mini gift set- personalized stationery, really nice pen, and name plate or placard for their office wall.
~Coffee sampler: A variety of blends and flavors for the busy professional to try as they re-up for the day ahead. For someone who doesn’t drink coffee, fear not. You can create the same thing with herbal tea.
Photographer:
Photography is a huge industry. Within the realm of photography, there is brand photography, wedding and events, product photography and more. One thing all of your clients have in common… we are all terrible at actually printing these images. I know personally, every year, we have amazing pictures done. Every year I promise to print some pictures to hang on my walls and every year, I never do. One remedy:
~Elegant frame- people tend to be lazy or forgetful to buy a frame, so starting them off with a really nice frame would be a great reminder and gift.
~Magazine interview style with headshots- On the professional end, a fun twist would be a “mock” magazine spread with details about them and their business.
Coaches (business/Health):
Your job as a coach, whether professional or health, is to encourage. An easy way to remind your client of all you taught them is to gift them some:
~Brand specific mantra cards- create a set of mantra cards with helpful hints, encouraging statements and whatever else fits the message you want to send.
~Executive mini gift set- also good here, especially for business clients. Everyone needs a planner or notecards and pens. It can be easily customized for based on the particular niche you serve.
Graphic Designers:
Graphic designers, you make the business world go round. You help businesses establish their visual branding. From logos to websites and marketing material. Here’s something your clients will enjoy.
~Magazine idea, but approach as a bio- Use the awesome images you created and make a magazine. You not only get to showcase your work, but your client gets this awesome keepsake as a gift.
~Cartoon of client- How cool would it be to gift your clients a cartoon that looks like them AND shares about their work. Such a stellar gift and again, helps you show off a bit.
Client gifts aren’t always easy, especially niche based gifting, but at least now you have a few ideas. Let me know how it works!
Gleefully Gifting,
Paula
